I want to say a big "Thank You!" to all who supported me during my surgery and treatments for cancer over the winter months.
As I entered this time in my life last December, I wondered how I would go through this alone. To my pleasant surprise, the greater community really turned out in support of me. That was evidenced by the encouraging calls and visits; the cards and notes; the gifts, including meals; the doctor visit rides; and the help with errands and household chores. I also received in-home gifts of massage and Healing Touch from community healers. I learned that people were praying in four countries and a dozen churches. The more than 1,300 visits to my Caring Bridge site evidenced individuals’ support, in their quiet way.
I’m thrilled to say that the prayers and support paid off and that I am back to work and getting stronger every day. I’ll learn of my outcome when I’m tested in mid June and I will keep people up to date on my Caring Bridge site.
I want you to know that I am very grateful for all of you in my life- friends, acquaintances and co-workers. Thank you for being there for me during this time. A lesson that I took from this experience: When I thought I was alone, thanks to many, I learned I wasn’t alone at all!
With deep sincerity,
Mound City Manager
