LHS teacher on leave resigns

Kevin Boozikee, a popular teacher and coach at Mayer Lutheran High School who was placed on administrative leave on Wednesday, May 16, has since resigned.

The reason for placing Boozikee on administrative leave was not made public. At the time, Joel Landskroener, executive director at LHS, and Boozikee were contacted and both declined to comment on the matter.

According to Landskroener, Boozikee resigned as a teacher and coach at LHS effective Friday, June 8, 2012.

Landskroener said that LHS is seeking candidates to replace Boozikee to teach English and/or coach basketball. Citing Boozikee’s rights as a worker in a private employment matter, Landskroener said he was unable to provide any additional information.

A phone message left at Boozikee’s home last week was not returned.

Boozikee taught English at LHS and was the head boys basketball coach at LHS for the past decade. He was also an assistant coach for the football team at LHS.
