Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the Watertown City Council was called to order at 6:34 p.m. on Tuesday, May 22, 2012 by Mayor K. J. McDonald in the Watertown City Hall.
Upon Roll Call the following Council Members were present: McDonald, Stephen Crowder, Rick Mann and Michael Walters. Council Member Nicholas Hoese was absent. City Staff present: Luke Fischer, Doug Kammerer and Dave Martini.
Other visitors and guests were present.
The following motions were approved by the Council:
2. Motion to adopt the agenda as amended. Motion carried 4-0.
3. Motion to adopt the consent agenda as amended. Motion carried 4-0.
3A. Motion to approve Item 3H with a revised date of Aug. 4, 2012 for event at Riverside Bar and Restaurant. Motion carried 4-0.
6A-1. Motion to approve the purchase agreement for 804 Hutchinson Road in the amount of $115,000. Motion carried 3-1 (Walters voted nay).
6A-2. Motion to authorize City Administrator Luke Fischer to represent the city at closing and execute necessary documentation for transfer of property ownership. Motion carried 4-0.
6C. Motion to approve a contract with Pearson Brothers, Inc. as low quote for the 2012 Seal Coating Project with condition that the yards completed not exceed the budgeted amount of $68,000. Motion carried 4-0.
6D. Motion to accept the city staff recommendation to refer the issue of Highway 25 sidewalk repairs to the general contractor Wm. Mueller & Sons for resolution. Motion carried 4-0.
6E. Motion to give $1,000 to the Watertown Fine Arts Council and purchase fifty $20 tickets to be given away for each $20 ticket purchased by any Watertown resident. Motion carried 4-0.
9A. Motion to accept the Bolton and Menk Inc. pay request and authorize city staff to come up with a policy to cover warranty issues. Motion carried 4-0.
10. Motion to approve the claims roster/voucher list. Motion carried 4-0.
11. Meeting was adjourned at 7:51 p.m.
