Cologne City Administrator John Douville was reportedly placed on unpaid administrative leave from June 12-26 this month.

Specific reasons for the action were not immediately clear, though Cologne Mayor Bernie Shambour Jr. said that it was "due to a personnel issue."

Shambour also confirmed that complaints had been made against Douville and that Douville was placed on paid administrative leave for the same issue from May 17 through June 3 this year.

The Times has made a request for additional information through the Minnesota Data Practices Act, and more details are expected later this week.

When contacted on Monday, Douville declined to comment publicly on the situation. Douville, who has been with the City of Cologne since 2004, returned to work on Tuesday, June 26.
