Two Lions earn Melvin Jones awards

On Tuesday, June 19 there was a lot of activity at the NYA Lions meeting, where several Lions received awards.

West Carver Lion and Past District Governor Mary Spille presented Lions Dave Williams and Todd Karels the Melvin Jones Fellowship Award.

The Melvin Jones Award is named after Lions founder Melvin Jones. The Melvin Jones award is awarded to Lions members who show exceptional dedication to humanitarian services. This is done through community service, fundraising to help humanitarian causes and support of humanitarian needs worldwide.

"This is one of the highest honors that can be bestowed upon a Lion Member and these recipients should take great pride in knowing they have impacted so many lives," said Spille.

NYA Lions help the community through donations, projects and support. They do fundraisers to generate funds to give to the community such as scouts, sports, community projects, food shelf, and much, much more.
