Phyllis C. Tester

Phyllis C. Tester, age 82 of Watertown, passed away Wednesday June 20, 2012, at the Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia.

Funeral Service was held Saturday June 23, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Watertown with Rev. Paul Krentz officiating. Visitation was Friday and also 1 hour prior to the service at the church. interment at the Watertown Public Cemetery in Watertown.

Phyllis was born on July 30, 1929, in Lyndale, the daughter of Paul F. and Alice M. (Tonn) Dressel. She was baptized on August 28, 1929, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Watertown Township by Rev. K. Rudolph and confirmed on June 27, 1943, at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Wayzata by Rev Martin Pope. On March 25, 1949, Phyllis was united in marriage to William A. Tester at Zion Lutheran Church in Mayer by Rev. Elmer Schwandt.

Phyllis was a loving wife, mom, grandma and great-grandma; family always came first.

She enjoyed quilting at church, bird watching, gardening, especially flowers, cooking and entertaining her family, always being a very giving person.

Phyllis was very involved at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, being a member of the ladies aid, and would often participate in bible class. She worked at the grocery store in Watertown for 30-plus years and was a cook at St. Paul’s Lutheran School.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband William "Bill" Tester; daughter Carolyn Tester; parents Paul and Alice Dressel; brother Linus Dressel.

Phyllis is survived by her loving family; son Larry "Marty" Tester of Waconia; daughter and son-in-law Laura and Lewis Chadwick of Watertown; grandchildren Chad and Joanna Devorak, Charisse Tester, Gretchen and Rick Kadle, Jonathan Tester, Ryan and Megan Chadwick, Victoria Chadwick, Ashley Chadwick; great-grandchildren Samantha, William, and Abbie Kadle, Jordan, Lucas, Rylee and Ryan Devorak, Kingsley and Carrington Tester; sisters and brothers-in-law Marjorie Hoese of Waconia, Jeanette and Allen Thompson of Chico, Calif., Bev and Rick Armstrong of Waconia; brothers and sisters-in-law Tom and Delores Dressel of Glencoe, Wallace and Vera Dressel of Waconia, Ron and Jane Dressel of Maple Plain; sister-in-law and husband Joanne Dressel and Cyrus Lideen of Howard Lake; nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
