MAPLE PLAIN – Budd/Highway 12 intersection could become safer for pedestrians

Maple Plain officials are looking to make the Budd Avenue and Highway 12 intersection safer for pedestrians.

City officials are currently working on designing a system of lights that will be activated at the intersection only when a pedestrian wishes to cross. The system allows for the free flow of traffic when no pedestrians are present, yet a red light shines when someone wants to cross the highway.

More information on the system will be available in the July 14 edition of The Pioneer.
