New display now on exhibit at the Carver County Historical Society

New Toy Display

Do you like toys? Then come and see the new exhibit at the Carver County Historical Society. Kids from the Junior Curator camp designed this exhibit for your enjoyment. Come and learn about the history of toys, everything from old trains and teddy bears to the Atari video game system. Fun for kids and parents alike.

Visitors are welcome daily from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays. There is no fee for admission, and the displays is open to all ages.

County Fair volunteers

Volunteers are needed this August to staff the Carver County Historical Society booth at the Carver County Fair, Aug. 8-12. The booth is located beneath shady trees atop Machinery Hill, adjacent to the Society’s log granary.

Shifts are available in two-hour increments from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and two people are needed per shift. Call Heidi at (952) 442-4234 to sign up – free admission included.

About the Carver County Historical Society

Established in 1940, the Carver County Historical Society is a private, not-for-profit organization whose mission is to collect, preserve and interpret the history of Carver County. The museum houses five local history galleries, a veterans’ exhibit and a local history and genealogy library. There is no charge to visit the museum or library.
