Olga Marie Mackenthun, age 101, of Waconia, formerly of Hamburg, passed away on Sunday, July 1, 2012, at the Good Samaritan Care Center in Waconia. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 5 at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Hamburg with interment following in the church cemetery. Olga Marie (Bergmann) Mackenthun was born on Aug. 19, 1910 in Hamburg. She was the daughter of Edward and Anna (Henschen) Bergmann. Olga was baptized as an infant on Aug. 28, 1910, by Rev. F. Pfotenhauer, and was later confirmed in her faith as a youth on April 13, 1924, by Rev. H.J. Bouman both at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Hamburg. She received her education at Emanuel Lutheran Parochial School in Hamburg. On May 15, 1932 Olga was united in marriage to Otto Mackenthun Sr. by Rev. H.J. Bouman at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Hamburg. Olga and Otto made their home on a farm in rural Hamburg, and in 1966 moved into Hamburg. Their marriage was blessed with three children, Otto Jr., Harlan and Marlene. Olga and Otto shared 47 years of marriage, until Otto passed away on Nov. 16, 1979. In December of 2004, when Olga needed assistance with her daily care, she became a resident of the Good Samaritan Care Center in Waconia. In addition to being a loving homemaker and mother, Olga was a farm wife, helping her husband on the farm. Olga was a faithful and life-long member at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Hamburg, where she was a member of the Ladies Aid and Quilting Committee. Olga enjoyed gardening and sewing. She cherished the time spent with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren. Olga passed away at the age of 101 years, 10 months and 12 days. Blessed be her memory.

Olga is survived by her: children, Otto Mackenthun Jr. and his wife, Janice, of Hamburg, Harlan Mackenthun and his wife, Clarice, of Norwood Young America, Marlene Kamps of Norwood Young America; grandchildren, Cindy Hoernemann and her husband, Doug, of Norwood Young America, Debbie Wentzlaff and her husband, Mark, of Green Isle, Lori Fillbrandt and her husband, Dave, of Glencoe, Jolene Barthel and her husband, Dan, of Norwood Young America, Suzanne Urban and her husband, Dave, of Plymouth, Lynn Mackenthun of Norwood Young America, Clayton Mackenthun and his wife, Truly, of Hamburg, Karen Gebhardt and her husband, Craig, of Watkins, Minn.; great-grandchildren, Cory and Jenny Hoernemann, Cara and Joe Chase, Lindsay Stoeckmann, Bryan (Vanessa) Fillbrandt, Matthew Fillbrandt, Justin Barthel, Katy Barthel, Caroline Urban, Jonathan Urban, Jason and Amy Mackenthun, Jared Mackenthun and his fianc
