Anna M. Schwartz

Anna M. Schwartz, age 98 of Cologne, passed away Monday, July 16, 2012 at the Good Samaritan Center in Waconia. Mass of Christian Burial was held Friday, July 20 at 11 a.m. at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Cologne with Father Gregory Abbott as Celebrant of the Mass; visitation was held two hours prior to the Mass at the church; interment in the church cemetery. Casket bearers were Toni Jeurissen, Janis O’Neil, Shelly Robinson, Theresa Hooper, Casandra Schwartz, Carla Schwartz, Nathan Schwartz, Malinda Harms.

Anna was born on March 2, 1914 in Bluffton, Minn., the daughter of Carl and Magdalena (Peffer) Schwartz. She was baptized and confirmed in the catholic faith in Bluffton, Minn. On June 1, 1936 Anna was united in marriage to Henry Schwartz at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Cologne. Anna was a loving wife, mother, grandma, great-grandma, and great-great-grandma, enjoying her family get-togethers whenever she could. She enjoyed playing cards, going to casinos, fishing, and gardening. Anna loved worshiping at church, which was a very important part of her life. She was also involved in the Senior Citizens Group.

Anna is preceded in death by her husband Henry Schwartz; son Richard Schwartz; daughter Helen Schwartz; grandson Jeff Vos; granddaughter Barbara Scheff; great-grandsons Joseph William Schwartz, Joshua Suttle; brother Casper Schwartz; sister Rosella Schwartz.

Anna is survived by her loving family; sons and daughters-in-law Wilbert and Mary Schwartz of Chaska, Bernie and Gail Schwartz of Litchfield, Andrew and Joyce Schwartz of Cologne, Carl and Bev Schwartz of Otsego, Robert and Linda Schwartz of Dassel, Joseph and Cindy Schwartz of Cologne; daughters and sons-in-law Marion and William Godwin of Arlington, Doris and James Scheff of Hillman; 39 grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; brother Ray Schwartz of Los Angeles, Calif.; nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
