More than $1 million was raised at Ridgeview Foundation’s 27th Annual Golf & Taste Celebration, held June 25 at Island View Golf Club in Waconia.
Nearly 1,000 people attended the annual Golf & Taste event, which included golf, bridge and bunco tournaments, the Taste of the Ridgeview Region, a buffet dinner, silent and live auctions, and more. There were 175 volunteers who worked collaboratively to organize and raise funds for the event.
"Each year we are humbled by the unbelievable participation in the Golf and Taste Celebration," said Doug Stasek, vice president of Corporate Communications & Philanthropy, Ridgeview Medical Center. "It is amazing to see so many people, from so many different communities throughout the Twin Cities, gathered together to support Ridgeview Medical Center. Ridgeview is very fortunate to have so many friends who care about health care in this region."
Proceeds from this year’s event will be used to support Ridgeview’s Innovation for Generations campaign-through which funds are being raised to further enhance the care and comfort of patients, from the very young to the very old. By blending the most advanced technologies with Ridgeview’s legacy of compassion, this effort will create care environments designed to meet the changing needs of tomorrow’s patients today. Some of the technological advances will include a new patient-nurse communication system, enhanced cancer care and older adult care services, and renovated patient-centered areas in the hospital’s 1963 addition.
The Wasie Foundation, a private philanthropic foundation headquartered in Wayzata, made a matching gift of $100,000. The Wasie Foundation provides grants to publicly supported charities focused on health care and education.
