Eight Orono High School students and their teacher are traveling to China as guests of the Chinese government.
They will be participating in the Chinese Bridge Summer Camp. The camp is sponsored by the Chinese government to promote communication between the youth of China and the youth of the United States. While the students are at the camp they will receive language classes for three hours a day and cultural studies for one-and-a-half hours a day. Sightseeing and cultural activities will also be a part of the program. Each student will be assigned a language partner for tutoring and exploring Beijing.
All of the students on the trip have completed Chinese Three at Orono High School and are looking forward to testing their language skills outside of the classroom. For more information about the Chinese program, contact principal, David Benson at Orono High School.
