CHS boys go undefeated at summer basketball tournament

The Central Boys Basketball Summer Varsity team competed in the Southwest Minnesota State University Team Camp in Marshall, Minn. over the weekend of July 7 and 8.

The boys played some teams from throughout Minnesota and South Dakota enroute to a 5-0 record in their pool.

The Raiders faced Sioux Valley Schools from Volga, South Dakota in their first matchup in which the Raiders faced a deficit at half-time, but battled back and were victorious with a three-point shot at the buzzer in overtime to win the contest.

In the second game of the day on Saturday the Raiders faced off with the Madison Bulldogs, from Madison, S.D. and were successful, with the Raiders walking away with a nine-point victory in regulation.

On Sunday morning the Raiders faced the Tracy-Milroy-Balaton Panthers from Tracy, Minn. and Section 3AA. The Raiders defeated the TMB Panthers by an 11-point margin.

The second game on Sunday saw the Raiders overwhelm the Dell Rapids Quarriers with a 20-point victory.

In the final game of the weekend the Raiders faced off against the West Central Area Knights from Barrett, Minn. and Section 6A. The Raiders defeated the Knights by 25 points on the way to their fifth victory of the weekend.
