Osmek receives endorsements for state senate district 33 seat

Republican-endorsed candidate David Osmek has been honored with a number of recent endorsements, including Congressman Erik Paulsen (MN CD3), State Senators Warren Limmer, David Hann, and Paul Gazelka, Hennepin County Commissioner Jeff Johnson, as well as GOP State Chairman Pat Shortridge.

"As a city councilor, Dave Osmek is a strong voice for fiscal discipline. Dave’s private sector experience will help bring needed reform to the state legislature." said Congressman Paulsen.

Also endorsing David Osmek were a large number of local elected officials from within the new Senate district, including Mayor Rick Weible of St. Bonifacius, Mayor Mark Hanus of Mound, Council Members Vicki Ernst and Bethany Tjornholm of Chanhassen, and Council Member Brad Johnson of Greenfield. Mound Council Member David Osmek received the Republican endorsement for State Senate District 33 on May 23 in Wayzata. Osmek received over 81 percent of the delegate votes on the final ballot of the convention.

Councilmember Osmek is serving his fourth term on the Mound City Council, beginning his tenure in 2001 and most recently re-elected in 2010. Senate District 33 represents the cities of Corcoran, Greenfield, Loretto, Medina, Independence, Wayzata, Long Lake, Maple Plain, Orono, Mound, Minnetrista, St. Bonifacius, Spring Park, Shorewood, Excelsior, Deephaven, Greenwood, Minnetonka Beach, and Tonka Bay, as well as parts of Chanhassen.

David is a lifelong Minnesotan, born in Glencoe. He lives in Mound with his wife Kari, and has two daughters (Christine and Samantha). He is a graduate of Saint Cloud State University and currently works as a project manager for a Fortune 100 healthcare company.
