With the cost to make water main repairs in the Sugarbush development coming in higher than expected, the Waconia City Council adjusted the scope of the project before awarding a contract to Minger Construction during its meeting on July 23.
Initially, the city was looking at a $1.7 million project that was to include extensive repairs and upgrades to the neighborhood’s sanitary sewer system and water main infrastructure. However, lengthy discussions and the consideration of community input led the council to eliminate all but the water main improvements last month.
