Southview landscaping is a good use of taxes?

To the editor:

I no longer reside in the city of Waconia; however, I’m moved to write this note to the editor.

On my way to work, I drive by Southview Elementary School. If you haven’t driven by on Maple Street lately I suggest you do so and see the landscaping that has been done with your tax dollars. I cannot believe that the school district would spend money to landscape the side hill. It is a blatant example of wasteful spending, and makes me wonder about how else your valuable monetary resources are being spent. Certainly in this day and age the priority is NOT aesthetics!

My second concern is that kids love to climb and there is not always supervision in the landscaped area. There is now the potential for injury and lawsuits.
