Gunther, Muehring named Eagle Scouts

Two members of the local Boy Scout Troop 361, sponsored by American Legion Post 343, were recognized at an Eagle Scout Court of Honor at the Roy Clay building in NYA.

Michael Gunther, son of Mike and Nancy Gunther of NYA, and Paul Muehring, son of Dana and Pamela Muehring of NYA, were each awarded their Eagle Medal and Badge during the ceremony. Eagle Scout is the highest rank in scouting, with only four to five percent of all scouts achieving it.

As part of becoming an Eagle Scout, the scout must do a community service project. Gunther’s project was to landscape the campus of Westview Acres in Waconia. Muehring’s project was to design and paint new parking spaces for the Central High School parking lot. He organized over 30 volunteers and spent more than 125 combined hours on the project.
