Karen J. Gillette
Karen J. (Rademacher) Gillette, age 52 of Las Vegas, Nev., formerly Waconia, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2012 in Las Vegas. A Funeral Mass was held Thursday, Aug. 23 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Waconia with Father Bennet Tran as Celebrant of the Mass; visitation was Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home in Waconia and at the church one hour prior to the Mass; prayer service 6 p.m. Wednesday; interment was in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery. Casket bearers were Michael Dummer, Shane Gillette, Scott Bisek, Todd Melcher, Quinn Mattson, Dale Rademacher and Bill Rademacher.
Karen was born on June 3, 1960 in Waconia, the daughter of Carl and Alice (Buesgens) Rademacher. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Waconia. On Feb. 12, 1999 she was united in marriage to Lance A. Gillette in Las Vegas. Karen loved her family very much, her granddaughter Elizabeth was the twinkle in her eye. She was a very giving and generous person and would do anything for anybody. Karen loved entertaining and holiday gatherings, especially Christmas. She enjoyed the Carver County Fair, horseback riding in Las Vegas, traveling, watching the Vikings and Twins, playing games on the computer, and she constantly was talking on her phone. She will be missed.
Karen is preceded in death by her father Carl Rademacher; brother Peter Rademacher; sister Betty Tesch; niece Pam; nephews Travis, Jeff, and Troy.
Karen is survived by her loving family; husband Lance Gillette of Las Vegas, Nev.; son and daughter-in-law Michael and Heather Dummer of Norwood Young America; the love of Karen’s life, granddaughter Elizabeth Dummer; step-children Troy Gillette, Shane Gillette; four step-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; mother Alice Rademacher of Waconia; siblings Adrian (Mary Ann) Rademacher of Waconia, Dwayne (Judy) Rademacher of Waconia, Earl (Mary) Rademacher of Cologne, Joe (Joanne) Rademacher of Mayer, Shirley (Meldon) Melcher of Norwood Young America, Patricia (Steve) Mattson of Big Lake, Dale (Jenni) Rademacher of Waconia, Bill Rademacher of Waconia; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Colleen and Bob Boals of Minneapolis; nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
