School is open
Students returned to school at Zion Lutheran School this Monday, Aug. 277. Please drive carefully when in the area. Watch this space for upcoming school news.

Senior citizens meeting postponed
The monthly senior citizens meeting for the month of September will be held on Monday, Sept. 9, instead of Sept. 2, because of Labor Day. We will have our monthly pot luck dinner beginning at 11:30 at the Community Center. Bring a dish of food to share and friend to share it with.

Time change for compost site
Now that the days are getting shorter, the hours for the compost site have been cut short by one hour starting this month. Someone will be on duty from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday and from 9 a.m. until noon on Saturday mornings.

Farmer’s Market
The Mayer Farmer’s Market is being held on the corner of Ash Ave. S. and County Road 30 West on Thursday afternoons from 3-6 p.m. Stop and see what our local growers have to offer.

Labor Day Weekend
The city offices will be closed on Monday, Sept. 2, in honor of Labor Day. Have a safe weekend!

Garbage and Recycle Pickup
There will be garbage and recycle pickup this week. Have bins placed at curbside by 7 a.m. on Friday.
