Paint The Town

CAP agency
FIRST AND THIRD MONDAYS AND WEDNESDAYS — The CAP Agency WIC Voucher pick-up times for all residents of Carver County are from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4:30 p.m. at the East Creek Family Center (303 E 6th Street, Chaska). For more information about WIC, call the CAP Agency at (952) 402-9869.

LEO Club meetings
FIRST AND THIRD SUNDAYS — Cologne Leos meet at 6:30 pm at 107 Paul Avenue South Cologne mn. 55322 (The Clubhouse). The group is also doing a monthly Parents Night Out to raise money for its rent. It consists of parents signing up and dropping their kids off at the Clubhouse on the nights the Leos are hosting and the group will provide crafts, games, a pancake meal popcorn and a movie. Legion Aux. meeting
TUESDAY, SEPT. 4 — The Legion Auxiliary will meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Midtown restaurant. Note the date change; due to Labor Day the group will be meeting the first Tuesday rather then the first Monday. Class of 1972 reunion
SATURDAY, SEPT. 8 — Members of the 1972 graduating class of Central High school are invited to come celebrate their 40th class reunion starting at 7 p.m. at the Gasthaus Bar in NYA.

Special Bible study
MONDAY, SEPT. 10 — St. John’s Lutheran Church (101 SE 2nd Ave, NYA) is hosting a Beth Moore Bible study titled “Mercy Triumphs,” an eight-week DVD/workbook study on the book of James, beginning Sept. 10. Word on Wednesday
WEDNESDAY, SEPT. 12 — WOW (Word on Wednesday), an after school program for children in grades 1-5, begins Sept. 12. All children in the community are welcome to enjoy Bible stories, snacks, games, music and crafts. Post prom meeting

History meeting
THURSDAY, SEPT. 13 — The quarterly meeting of the Willkommen Heritage and Preservation Society will take place at the Heritage Center (102 E Main St., NYA) beginning at 7 p.m. Topics of discussion will be the fall theme and a wrap up on the displays for Stiftungsfest. ‘Alice in Wonderland’
THURSDAY, SEPT. 13 TO SATURDAY, SEPT. 16 AND FRIDAY AND SATURDAY, SEPT. 21-22 — River City Theatre Company will present its seventh production, “Alice in Wonderland” at the Watertown-Mayer High School Performing Arts Center. September 13-15 and 21 shows are at 7 p.m. and Sept. 16 and 22 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $9 for adults and $7 for students. For more information visit RiverCityTheatreCompany.org.

Scout sign-up night

NYA Bloodmobile
TUESDAY, SEPT. 18 — A Bloodmobile will be held at the NYA Pavilion from 12:30 to 6:30 p.m. Donors will be contacted by phone, and if you would like to sign up on-line, you may do so by going to www.redcrossblood.org. For the bloodmobile, organizers are looking mostly for type “O”, but any type will be accepted. If you would like to donate or volunteer to help that day, call LaVonne at (952) 467-3214.

Wine tasting event
FRIDAY, OCT. 26 — The West Carver Lions announce their seventh annual Food and Wine Extravaganza, which will take place at the Willkommen Park Pavilion. Limited tickets are on sale now for $20 at Good Time Liquors, The Flower Mill and Chameleon Salon.
