Fire burned by Panthers

The Holy Family football team starts the season 0-1 after a 46-21 loss to Glencoe-Silver Lake last week.

The Panthers led 21-0 after the first quarter, and although the Fire posted 21 points (one touchdown per quarter) throughout the remainder of the game, the Panthers ran away with the victory.

Leading rushers for the Fire included Connor Riddle (81 yards, one touchdown), Ben Baker (70 yards, one touchdown), and Connor Byrnes (21 yards). Top receivers included Derek Ogren (74 yards, one touchdown), Riddle (8 yards), Charlie Marschall (5 yards), and Nick Hanscom (5 yards). Ogren led in tackles (10), closely followed by Marschall (8), Hanscom (6), and Rob LaRose (6). Baker completed six of ten passes for the Fire, for 87 yards and one touchdown. LaRose was 1-1 for five yards.

The Fire will host Litchfield this Friday, Sept. 7 at 7 p.m.
