The Waconia MYSA U17 boys’ soccer team was recently recognized as Outstanding Ambassadors of Teams Honoring Sportsmanship (OATHS). This is the first time the team has received such an award, while most members have been in the program for six years. The OATHS is an “encouragement education program,” according to the MYSA website, that “distinguish athletes, coaches and fans for their dedication to good sportsmanship.” All referees are asked to complete an evaluation of each team, coaches, and fans. Teams with the highest marks throughout the season are recognized as OATHS. The team includes, front row: Charlie Spurbeck, Mitchell Zebell, Dan Butz, Ryan Christensen, Tyler Christensen, and Seth Krueger; back row: coach Jeremy Kaeding, Austin Hrudka, Kody Delange, James Nash, Billy Schultz, Ben Kullman, Brandon Gonzales, Alex Herman, and Nick Dirnberger; not pictured: Steven Diehl and Jacob Fettig.
