BOARD OF EDUCATION
July 17, 2012
I. The regular meeting of the Watertown-Mayer School Board in the Watertown-Mayer Teaching and Learning Center on Tuesday, July 17, 2012 was called to order at 7:07 PM by Chair McCain. Board members present: Hoover, Janikula, McCain, Koehler, Salonek and Burns. Absent: Thompson. Administration team members present: Superintendent Marlette and Hennen. Absent: Hittle, Fitzsimonds, Guertin and Busacker.
II. Visitor requests and consideration of agenda. MMS (Motion made and Seconded by) Burns and Koehler to approve the agenda as amended. Passes 6-0
III. General Business Items
MMS Salonek and Burns to approve the following consent agenda items: Minutes of the Regular Board Meeting of June 27, 2012; Personnel consent agenda; business consent agenda – operations update. Passes 6-0.
IV. Recognitions/Presentations: The board recognized the Principal Bob Hennen for his commendation from the Governor in helping Drake Mosford and his family through difficult times.
V. MMS Burns and Salonek to close the meeting at 7:11 PM for negotiation discussions.
Meeting reopened at 7:23 PM.
I. Reports by Guests, Administration and Board
Knutson Construction representatives, Steve Curry, Mike Wolf, Dave Carr, Ryan Ryberg, Rick Vrendenburg and Marvin T. Fabyanske presented information to the board regarding construction issues. Marlette reminded the board of the upcoming elections – 4-four term vacancies in November.

VIII. New Business
A MMS Salonek and Burns to approve the Resolution Providing for Sale of General Obligation School Building Refunding Bonds, Series 2012B: Covenanting and Obligating the District to be Bound by and to Use the Provisions of Minnesota Statutes, Section 16C.55 to Guarantee the Payment of the Principal and Interest on the Bonds. Ayes: Salonek, Burns, Hoover, Janikula, Koehler and McCain. Nays: None. Passes 6-0.
B. MMS Salonek and Burns to approve the 2012-2013 Miscellaneous Pay Rates for Athletic Officials and Workers (No Change for FY 2013). Passes 6-0.
C. MMS Burns and Janikula to approve the 2012-2013 Ticket Prices for Home Events (No Change for FY 2013). Passes 6-0.
D. MMS to approve the 2012-2013 Parking Fees (No Change for FY 2013). Passes 6-0.
E. The board had the First Reading of Policy 514: Bullying Prohibition Policy.
F. The board had the First Reading of Policy 524: Technology Resource Acceptable Use
and Safety Policy.
G. MMS Salonek and Burns to approve the Agreement between Watertown-Mayer Public Schools and the City of Watertown – Right of Entry and Waiver of Trespass. Passes 6-0.
IX. Discussion of issues or open comments by School Board Directors.
