The Waconia Chamber of Commerce organized a meet and greet featuring Congresswoman Michele Bachmann and her District 6 challenger, businessman Jim Graves, for its Coffee Connection event held Thursday, Sept. 6. More than 65 people attended the event, which was held at Statewide Gas Services in downtown Waconia. The event was not a forum or a debate — it was networking event that gave people in the Waconia business community a chance to meet Bachmann and Graves and talk about District 6, which will be Waconia’s new district after redistricting takes effect next year (Waconia is currently District 2). After the 90-minute event, Bachmann visited several locations in Waconia, including Ridgeview Medical Center, Mackenthun’s Fine Foods, Milltronics, Clearwater Clothing, and Mocha Monkey. Graves also stayed in town and talked with a group about agriculture policy before visiting Ridgeview Medical Center.
