Gordon A. Felt, age 83, of Waconia, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2012 at the Auburn Home in Waconia.
Memorial Service held Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waconia with Rev. Phil Wagner officiating; Gathering of family and friends was from 12:30 p.m. until time of service at the church; interment West Union Lutheran Cemetery Carver.
Gordon was born on July 13, 1929 in New Prague, Minn., the son of Walfred and Anna (Erickson) Felt. He was baptized and confirmed in the Christian Faith at West Union Lutheran Church in Carver. On Sept. 9, 1950 Gordon was united in marriage to Joan K. Schwichtenberg at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waconia by Rev. Heyne.
Gordon was a family man, he loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He especially enjoyed trips to the Landscape Arboretum with his wife Joan. Gordon was an avid fisherman, and enjoyed all the activities around Lake Waconia. He loved working at the Auburn Home in Waconia.
Gordon was a faithful servant and lived by the Serenity Prayer. Gordon had served in the United States Navy and was a member of the Waconia VFW and Waconia American Legion and was a past Commander of the VFW.
Gordon is preceded in death by an infant son David Allen Felt; parents Walfred and Anna Felt; sister Mildred Carroll; brothers Howard, Harold, Milton and Vernon Felt.
Gordon is survived by his loving family: wife Joan; daughters Kristie (Gary) Brandenburg of Waconia, Nancy (Jeff) Baillif of Eagan, Andrea (Matt) Brokl of Inver Grove Heights; grandchildren Joshua Brandenburg, Jennifer and Jeremy Doroff, Joe Brandenburg, Ryan Baillif, Tyler Baillif, Wyatt Baillif, Ellen Brokl, Grant Brokl; great-grandson Brody Doroff; brother Raymond (Edna) Felt of Bloomington; sister Lorraine Maio of San Diego, CA; sisters-in-law Gladys Felt of Cologne, Beverly Felt of Chaska, Joan Felt of Chaska; brother-in-law John Carroll of Grand Rapids; sisters-in-law Iris Heinen of Waconia, LaVonne (Wayne) Johnson of Golden Valley; nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
Honorary Pall Bearers are Gordon’s grandchildren.
