Plenty for Zion Lutheran School to celebrate in 100th year

School is underway and we are very excited at Zion to be focusing on Micah 6:8 this year. The verse reads, “He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness and to walk humbly with your God?”
We love that we get to have the opportunity to talk about Christian character every day at Zion and give a model to the students of how that looks. We have chapel families that integrate all ages of children together which allows for great student relationships from kindergarten through the eighth grade.
We started off the school year with hosting Sean Meek and Project Creation. Mr. Meek comes from Tennessee and brings science to life in a Christian focus by doing hands-on projects and experiments with the students. The kids got to see “dancing eggs” and learned about mass and weight with salt water projects and then were able to see the laws of motion by pulling out a cloth from under a stack of breakable dishes. It was a fun day had by all.
As we walk the halls we see lots of art projects of faces lining the halls as we get to know all of the new students and their interests and hobbies through self-portraits of many kinds.
As we celebrate 100 years of the Christian education ministry here at Zion Lutheran Church this year we find ourselves thankful for the blessings of the past and looking forward to God’s plans for us into the future. Our small town community is the perfect setting for a school and the family dynamic that is so prevalent in all that we do. Our mission is to Share hope and teach Christ and we do that by being Christ centered in all that we do, academically strong in all that we teach and respectfully operated in the way we run our organization.
We look forward to sharing what we do with you in the coming year.
