The Watertown-Mayer school district’s Staff Wellness Committee is organizing and sponsoring the seventh annual Royal’s River Triathlon set for Saturday, Sept. 29, at 9 a.m.
The primary focus for the triathlon is participation and community-wide involvement. The Wellness Committee works to make the triathlon a great way for the school and community to partner together to promote healthy lifestyles.
The triathlon is a swim/bike/run event, and the course will utilize the high school swimming pool, a bike route through town and the Luce Line Trial, and finally a running course through the woods behind the high school/middle school and along Quaas Avenue.
Participants will have the option of completing the full triathlon or the “mini-triathlon.” The “mini” is designed for parents with young children, first-time tri-athletes, or anyone just looking to participate. Participants can also form teams of three, with each individual completing one activity (swim, bike, or run) in the event.

The triathlon is an exciting event on every level. As a participant, spectator, sponsor or volunteer, all are encouraged to join the fun. Volunteers are needed on race day to set up courses, direct traffic, and cheer on the participants. For volunteer information, please contact Jessica Pond at 952-955-0452 or email email@example.com.
