The Sweet Taste of Victory!

The 2nd annual Pie Eating Contest was held on Nickle Dickle Day in Waconia on Saturday, Sept 15. The contest, which was sponsored by the Waconia Patriot, was a fundraiser for schools in Waconia.

In the main event, Tracy Hartmann, a seventh grade math teacher at Clearwater Middle School, narrowly edged Josh Sell of Southview Elementary School for the title. Other constestants included teachers Aaron Olson (Waconia High School) and Corey Wedge (Bayview Elementary School) and students Joe Robinson (representing St. Joseph’s Catholic School) and Mya Rooke (representing Trinity Lutheran School).

Thousands of people visited Waconia for Nickle Dickle Day, which is the community’s annual celebration that’s organized by the Waconia Chamber of Commerce. For more from Nickle Dickle Day, see this week’s Waconia Patriot.
