Watertown-Mayer schools to host anti-bullying event

The Watertown-Mayer School District will host an anti-bullying event on Oct. 1 that includes a school assembly during the day and also a public session in the evening.

The “True Lies School Assembly Tour” includes speaker Phil Chalmers, a teen violence and bullying expert who will adress the students about bullying, substance abuse, crime prevention, suicide, self worth, and more. The assembly also will feature rap artist LG Wise, who will perform his anti-bullying song, “Tonight.”

The middle school assembly begins at 10:45 a.m. in the Performing Arts Center, and the high school assembly begins at 12:30 p.m. The community event will be in the evening, and is scheduled to last from 7-8:30 p.m. Look for more details in next week’s Carver County News.
