A benefit for Watertown Mayor K.J. McDonald has been set for Saturday, Oct. 6, at the Watertown Community Center.
The event will consist of a spaghetti dinner from 5-8 p.m. The event will include a free will offering, and proceeds will be used for medical bills related to McDonald’s metastatic melanoma.
McDonald was diagnosed late last year when doctors found a tumor near his brain. The longtime Watertown resident had surgery at that time, but has been receiving ongoing treatment since that time.
McDonald, who has long held public office at the city and state levels, is not running for re-election in the upcoming election due to his health concerns.
