Crusader girls improve to 3-4-1

After a three-game midseason losing slump, the Mayer Lutheran girls’ soccer team pulled off its third win of the season over Spectrum on Sept. 20. The Crusaders are currently 3-4-1 this season.

At Watertown-Mayer on Sept. 18, the Crusaders fell 6-1. The lone goal for Mayer Lutheran came off the fast feet of senior Terrin Boozikee, scoring on a corner kick ricocheting off a Watertown-Mayer defender.

The Crusaders controlled the ball for the majority of the first half during their 4-1 victory over Spectrum on Sept. 20. Mayer Lutheran struggled to find the back of the net in the first half, and trailed 1-0 at halftime. The second half was different game as the Crusaders quickly scored two goals early in the half, and kept the pressure on Spectrum to ultimately score two additional goals for the 4-1 win. Goals against Spectrum came from Belle Flucas (2), Grace Gassen, and Brenna Larsen.
