Obits – William “Bill” J. Kaufhold
William “Bill” J. Kaufhold, age 81, of Victoria, died Thursday, Sept. 20, 2012 at the Marie Steiner Kelting Hospice House in Chaska. Private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
William Kaufhold was born July 31, 1931 in Chanhassen Township the son of Joseph B. and Ruth A. (Wolff) Kaufhold. Bill attended grade school in Victoria and later the Waconia High School. Bill was inducted into the United States Army on Sept. 25, 1952 where he served until his Honorable Discharge on Sept. 24, 1954.
Bill was united in marriage with Marlene Ann Kerber on May 7, 1960 at St. Victoria Catholic Church in Victoria. This union was blessed with five children. Bill had worked for ThermoFin which became Mammoth until his retirement in 1996. He was a member of Waconia American Legion and the former Legion Post in Victoria. Bill enjoyed watching his grandchildren playing sports. He was a big Twins and Vikings fan. He also liked to go camping and ice fishing. For 12 years Bill and Marlene had spent their winters in Mesa, Ariz.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Ruth Kaufhold, daughters-in-law Sylvia Kaufhold and Peggy Kaufhold, brothers Dennis “Tuffy” Kaufhold and David Kaufhold, sister Joanne Schulz, father-in-law and mother-in-law Math and Regina Kerber, brothers-in-law Ken Schulz, Earl Schulz, Don Kerber.
Bill is survived by his loving family: wife of 52 years Marlene; children and their spouses Bruce Kaufhold of Victoria, Kevin and Judy Kaufhold of North Royalton, Ohio, Michelle and Roger Hammers of Victoria, Tim Kaufhold of Victoria, Matt and Tisha Kaufhold of Carver; grandchildren Jaymie Kaufhold, Andrew Kaufhold, Casey Kaufhold, Tyler Kaufhold, Charles Simone, Shane Simone, Holly Kaufhold, Antone Hammers, Breanna Kaufhold, Tim Kaufhold Jr., Blake Kaufhold, Hannah Kaufhold; sister Louise Schulz of Waconia; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Jane and Gerald Michel of Victoria, Rita and Joe Doussard of Denver, Colo., Evelyn Kerber of Victoria, Florence Kaufhold of Buffalo; nieces, nephews, and many friends.
