The CHS homecoming king for 2002 is Preston Dvorak, and the queen is Kayla Stewart.
Court members include Nate Jacques, Ashley Buckentin, Jason Arndt, Krysta Hanson, Tyler Hasse, Sarah Hilgers, Adam Kube, Brooke Lueck, Tami Harms and Tyler Meuleners.
Jim Kuhl is challenging Jim Ische in District 5, and Derek Lee is challenging Sheriff Jim Olson in local elections this fall.

Homecoming king candidates at Central High School this year include Al Steinhagen, Lucas Coder Brian Fritz, Terry Waetjen and Dominic Frutus.
Queen candidates are Rhonda Heuer, Cyndie Droege, Kathy Rolf, Dawn Bigaouette and Dana Clark.
Douglas Engstrom, 16, pled guilty as an adult to first-degree manslaughter in the shooting death of Travis Eggersgluss, also 16, last week. Both are of Watertown. According to reports, it is believed the shooting was in retaliation for the alleged rape of a 14-year-old girl.

A tour group of 61 local people traveled to Germany, where they were met by the Diedesfeld Band in full uniform, playing their favorite tunes. The 16-day trip generated many happy memories from Young America’s sister city.
CHS homecoming queen candidates this year are City Hilgers, Donna Eder, Michelle Flaig, Kathy Trick and Susie Beler.
King candidates are Mike Kohls, David Fahey, Richard Hoen, Bill Stuewe and David Rolf.

The Hamburg Fire Department was called to the Orville Kloempken farm last week, where a pole barn was destroyed by a blaze that started around 9 p.m. Firefighters remained on scene until 7 a.m. the next morning to protect the main barn and other structures.
Elaine Murray, 76 of Norwood, passed away at the Glencoe Municipal Hospital from injuries received in an auto accident on Sept. 25.
Winners in the FFA Creed Speaking Contest were Mike Pieper (first), Dale Mueleners (second) and Don Harms (third). Pieper will advance to the district contest in February.
