Zion Lutheran School will be hosting a 100-year Celebration Carnival on Saturday, Oct. 27 from 1 to 6 p.m. There will be lots of games, bouncy houses, pony rides, hayrides, a petting zoo and more.
There will also be lots of fun food with cheese curds, mini donuts, hamburgers, hot dogs, kettle corn, caramel apple bowls, etc. Come join the fun and stay for an hour or for the day! Wristbands for kids ages 3-12 are $5 and cover all the games.
Zion is also hosting a 100-year celebration worship service, Turkey Dinner and silent auction on Sunday, Nov. 11. The worship times are 8 and 10:30 a.m. with a Turkey Dinner to be held from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Silent auction will close at 1:30 p.m. Advance tickets for the dinner are $10 per adult and $5 for kids age 4-10. The tickets are for sale in the office of Zion Lutheran School. The dinner will include turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, stuffing, green beans, coleslaw, cranberries, rolls, pumpkin bars and pies.
Members of the Mayer City Council have a meeting on Monday, Oct. 8 at 6:30 p.m.
The compost site will remain open on Wednesday evenings from 5 to 7 p.m. and Saturday mornings from 9 a.m. to noon.
On Wednesday, Oct. 10, there will be a grand opening for the Mayer residential recycling dropoff located just east of the wastewater treatment facility on County Road 30. The event begins at 3 p.m.
