Amie S. McPadden-Miller, age 38, of Waconia, formerly of Norwood Young America, passed away on Monday, Sept. 24, 2012 at the Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia.
Funeral service was held on Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012 at 11 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church (210 2nd Ave SE) in Norwood Young America with Rev. Eric Hutchison officiating; visitation was Friday from 4-8 p.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home (141 E. First St.) in Waconia and one hour prior to the service at church; chapel service was 7:30 p.m. Friday evening; interment Mau Memorial Cemetery Norwood Young America.
Amie was born on Sept. 26, 1973 in Waconia the daughter of Glenn S. and Diane (Goetz) McPadden Jr. Amie was baptized on Oct. 14, 1973 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Young America by Rev. Henry Fry and confirmed on March 27, 1988 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Young America by Rev. Henry Fry. Amie graduated from Central High School. In September of 1991 Amie was the first to be crowned the city’s Harvest Queen.
Amie loved spending time with her children and all of her family. A great conversationalist, she was the life of the party, always having a good time. Amie enjoyed baking, cooking, shopping, photography, going for walks and doing arts and crafts. She participated in playing softball and volleyball. Amie had a special affection for her puppies and kittens.
Amie was preceded in death by her brother Steve McPadden; grandparents Glenn and Pearl McPadden Sr., Raymond and Mildred Goetz; uncles Dennis Goetz and Dwayne Goetz.
Amie is survived by her loving family: son Bryce McPadden of Waconia; daughter Danika Miller of Waconia; parents Glenn and Diane McPadden Jr. of Norwood Young America; sister Dr. Jaimee McPadden of Waconia; nephew Justin Luedloff of Belle Plaine; step-grandmother Delores McPadden of Annandale; uncles and aunts David and Sharon McPadden of Dent, Diane and Rollie Lindemeier of Norwood Young America, Michael and Deb McPadden of Norwood Young America, Marcia and Dan Duda of Anoka, Bonnie Petersen of Danbury, Wis., Connie Goetz of Monticello, Marion Goetz of Norwood Young America; other relatives and friends.
