Royals close regular season with 9-6 record

The Watertown-Mayer girls’ soccer team went 2-1 in its final week of the regular season to finish with a 9-6 record.

The Royals started the week with consecutive shutouts of PACT Charter (3-0) and Mayer Lutheran (4-0) on Tuesday and Thursday, Oct. 2 and 4. However, the Royals closed the week and the regular season with a 6-2 loss at Brainerd on Saturday, Oct. 6. Stats from those games were not available at press time.

The Royals earned the No. 10 seed in the Section 6A playoffs, and took on Providence Academy on the road on Tuesday afternoon. If they won, they would play at No. 2 Orono on Thursday.
