David J. Lenz, age 62, of Montrose, passed away on Saturday Oct. 13, 2012.
The funeral Service was held on Wednesday, Oct. 17, at 11 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Watertown with Rev. Paul Krentz officiating. Visitation was from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at church.
David was born on March 22, 1950, in Watertown, the son of Ervin and Evangeline (Siegler) Lenz. On Nov. 13, 1971, he was united in marriage to Linda L. Kirchenwitz at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Watertown by Rev. Mueller.
David loved his family dearly, putting them first in his life all the time. He enjoyed being around family and friends whatever the occasion might be. A friendly game of cards was never out of the question for David and his buddies. He would like to watch a number of sporting events, the Minnesota Twins being his favorite. David had a passion for classic cars. Hunting, fishing and camping were always on the list of activities that he liked to do. David loved his dogs they were with him most of the time.
David was preceded in death by his parents Ervin and Evangeline Lenz; sister Bonnie Lemke; father-in-law and mother-in-law Arthur and Ethel Kirchenwitz; sister-in-law Donna Kirchenwitz; brothers-in-law Jack Moran, Larry Hedtke, Loren Kirchenwitz; nephew Robert Kirchenwitz.
David is survived by his loving family: wife Linda; son and daughter-in-law Bryan and Dacia Lenz of Winsted; daughter Meagan Lenz and boyfriend Jeremy Widmer of Montrose; brother and sister-in-law James and Sue Lenz of Elk River; sister Sandy Hedtke of Arizona; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Ken Kirchenwitz and special friend Renee Ketcher of Montrose, Shirley Moran of Hutchinson, Rita and Tom Radde of Mayer; nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
