Public Information Meeting

Notice of Public Information Meeting Proposed Sewer Availability Charge (SAC) 2012 Work Group Recommendations Tuesday, October 23, 2012, 2 p.m. Metropolitan Council Environmental Services (MCES) will conduct a public meeting to provide information and receive public comment on the proposed Work Group recommendations. Background Metropolitan Council Environmental Services (MCES) will hold a public information meeting on key recommendations made by a 2012 Sewer Availability Charge (SAC) Work Group. Most salient is the Work Group recommendation that MCES should allow for net credits from sites where SAC was actually paid. This would allow a community the option of moving the net credits to another site. Credits from grandparenting or a long continuous (but unpaid) demand would be available only on the site from which they originate. Additional recommendations include: making available a Metropolitan Council loan to cities for spreading out SAC costs related to small businesses, allowing transfers of SAC between sites for small businesses moving within a city, and some suggested improvements to MCES services. At the meeting a presentation will be made by MCES staff. Details on the recommendations are available upon request. The full 2012 Sewer Availability Charge Work Group report is expected to be available at the public information meeting.
