Bruce A. Venske, age 54, of Lester Prairie, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 14, 2012, at the Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia. The funeral service was held on Friday, Oct. 19, at 11 a.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home in Waconia with Rev. Adam Westrich officiating: Visitation was Thursday from 5-8 p.m. and also at the funeral home 1 hour prior to the service; Interment at Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Mayer.
Bruce was born on Oct. 19, 1957, in Watertown, the son of Marvin and Cordella (Henning) Venske. Bruce was baptized and confirmed at St. Mark Lutheran Church in New Germany. Bruce was a collector of anything and everything. You could find him at many auctions throughout the area. Bruce would scrap iron and copper. He loved helping people out when they needed a hand. In his spare time Bruce treasured his time on the lake fishing. Bruce worked at Nilfisk Advance for 30 years.
Bruce was preceded in death by his parents Marvin and Cordella Venske; a brother in infancy.
Bruce is survived by his loving family: siblings and spouses: Richard and Marlane Venske of Arlington, Roger and Roberta Venske of Winsted, Dennis and Marlene Venske of Winsted, Douglas Venske of Winsted, Sharon Venske of Winsted, Kenneth and Ginger Venske of Chaska, Karen and Donald Kuhnau of Montrose; nephews and nieces Steven and Trish Venske, David Venske, Beth Venske, Kelsey Venske, Evin Venske, Gary Voight, Sue and Todd Neumann, Tammy and Chad Ittel; 7 great nieces and nephews.
