Obits – Sharon L. Hazelwood
Sharon L. Hazelwood, age 70, of Victoria passed away Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2012 at the Marie Steiner Kelting Hospice House in Victoria after a long battle with Scleroderma.
Funeral Service was held Monday, Oct. 22, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church (800 Waconia Pkwy N.) in Waconia with Rev. Dale Peterson officiating; visitation was Sunday, Oct. 21, 2012 from 4 to 8 p.m. and Monday one hour prior to the service all at Faith Lutheran Church in Waconia; interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
Sharon was born on Dec. 8, 1941 in Minneapolis the daughter of Leonard and Evelyn (Roberg) Ess. She was baptized and confirmed at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Excelsior. On Dec. 29, 1962 Sharon was united in marriage to Melvin N. Hazelwood at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Excelsior.
Sharon loved to travel with her husband to many different destinations. She was a very active person belonging to the Sagasu Book Club, her morning swimming group and the Homemakers Club. Sharon treasured time spent with her grandchildren and was looking forward to her new granddaughter. She liked to do needlepoint and spending time out in the sun. One of her favorite places to be was at the cabin relaxing with family and friends.
Sharon was preceded in death by her father Leonard Ess, father-in-law and mother-in-law Norman and Louise Hazelwood; brother-in-law LeRoy Hazelwood.
Sharon is survived by her loving family: husband Mel; daughter and son-in-law Cindy and David Lutz of Eagan; son and daughter-in-law Mike and Monica Hazelwood of Chanhassen; grandchildren Jeremy Lutz, Aaron Lutz, Avery Hazelwood; mother Evelyn Ess of Victoria; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Mary Ann and Keith Primeau of WI; her beloved dog Charlie; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
