First Friday service
FRIDAY, NOV. 2 – First Friday Recovery Service will be held at 7 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church (800 Waconia Parkway N, Waconia). All are welcome to attend this informal worship service. It is designed for anyone looking for support or healing with an emphasis on recovery from addictions. Early Childhood screen.
NOV. 2 & 16 – Early Childhood Screening is a free service offered by District 110 staff that will check a child’s overall development and health. Recommended screening age is between the ages of 3 1/2 and 4 years. Screenings take place at the Early Childhood Family Center, 520 Industrial Blvd., from 8:15 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. Info: 442-0613.

SATURDAY, NOV. 10 – The Cologne Lions and Cologne Leo’s Club along with the West Carver Lions and Mayer-Watertown DandyLions are sponsoring an event where people create greeting cards that will be sent to people serving in the military. SUNDAY, NOV. 11 – Zion Lutheran Church in Mayer is hosting a 100-year celebration worship service, Turkey Dinner and silent auction. Worship times: 8 and 10:30 a.m. Turkey Dinner from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Silent auction closes at 1:30 p.m. Advance dinner tickets are $10 per adult and $5 for kids age 4-10. Tickets for sale at Zion Lutheran School. Dinner includes turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, stuffing, green beans, coleslaw, cranberries, rolls, pumpkin bars and pies.

MONDAY, NOV. 12 – In honor of Veterans Day, all military personnel, veterans and their families will receive free admission to Safari Island in Waconia. They will also receive free admission and skate rental for Open Skate at the Waconia Ice Arena from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Please present your Military ID.
