How many of us have friends that we’ve known since kindergarten? For the Confirmation Class of 1957 at Trinity Lutheran Church & School in Waconia, that is a reality.
The class of 26 students have gone to school together at Trinity since kindergarten. They have wonderful memories from grade school, high school, and sharing life together. Trinity offered each of them a solid foundation of faith through Scripture memory, worship songs, and regular church attendance. One classmate, Howard Krienke, even went on to become a pastor. This group continues to meet regularly for a Confirmation Class reunion and to stay in touch. Most classmates still live in the area. Two members of this class have passed away.
On Sunday, Oct. 28, Trinity confirmed 26 students in the Confirmation Class of 2012. The Class of 1957 encourages them to keep their faith, to stay strong in the Lord, and remember to pray and read the Bible as a family. “Always trust the Lord, He will never let you down,” as a Confirmand from 1957 stated. This proves to be sound advice from living nearly 70 years in the faith.
