Guy R. Corson, age 96, of Waconia, formerly of Richfield, passed away Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012 at the Waconia Good Samaritan Center.
Graveside Service was Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2012 at 1 p.m. at Resurrection Cemetery in Mendota Heights, Minn., with Rev. Steve Anderson officiating; Interment Resurrection Cemetery.
Guy was born on Aug. 5, 1916 in Eyota, Minn., the son of Walter and Martha Corson.
Guy is preceded in death by his wife, Marie Corson.
Guy was a captain in the Army Air-Corp, proudly serving his country from April 16, 1943 until Feb. 24, 1946. He was a professional tennis player before and after the war. Guy was an entrepreneur; he owned and operated his own search light business for many years.
Guy loved his family, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and just being in the outdoors. He liked to play cards, travel, football, tennis and hockey.
Guy is survived by his loving family: sons and daughters-in-law Tom and Sherry Corson of Bemidji, Bob and Faye Corson of Young America; grandchildren Anna, Abby, Amanda, Allison, and Roby Corson; great-grandson Brady Corson; nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
