Audrey Steinhagen and Lanie Lundgren won the local competition in the Lions’ International Peace Poster Contest.

Steinhagen, a student from Central Middle School, and Lundgren, a student from St. John’s Lutheran School, have taken the first step to becoming internationally recognized artists by winning a local competition sponsored by the NYA West Carver Lions.
Lions Clubs International is sponsoring the Peace Poster contest to emphasize the importance of world peace to young people everywhere. These posters were selected for originality, artistic merit, and portrayal of the contest theme: Imagine Peace.

Steinhagen and Lundgren’s posters have the opportunity to advance to face competition through the district, multiple district, and international rounds of competition in order to be declared the international grand prize winner.

Sadie Erickson and Courtney Carlson from Central Middle School received recognition and a cash prize for 2nd and 3rd place.

Likewise, Jaret Glander and Ethan Larson were awarded 2nd and 3rd place for St. John’s. Awards were presented by the NYA West Carver Lions at each of the schools’ assemblies.
