Leidiger defeats Pickering in Dist. 47A state house race
Incumbent State Rep. Ernie Leidiger, R-Mayer, has retained his District 47A seat in the Minnesota House of Representatives.
Unofficially, Leidiger received 12,938 votes, or 62.5 percent, during Tuesday’s election. His opponent, Keith Pickering of Watertown, received 7,718 votes, or 37.3 percent.
“I feel pretty good,” Leidiger said of winning his race. “I feel like the county we’re in, we’re in a pretty centrist county. People know what’s important, what’s at stake.”
Leidiger, who watched results with supporters at Finn’s Place in Mayer, said he was thankful for all the support. He said his aim is to continue to improve and promote the business climate in Minnesota.
