Fall Fun Day
THURSDAY, NOV. 8 – Fall Fun Day will be held at St. Joe’s in Waconia. Enjoy a free morning of fun, play, stories, crafts, and snacks. Candy Give Back event
THURSDAY, NOV. 8 – Ladybug Child Care Center (859 Vista Boulevard in Waconia) is sponsoring a Halloween Candy Give Back event where donated candy will be sent to men and women overseas. Community members are welcome to bring their extra candy to Ladybug on Nov. 8. Info: (952) 442-5057.

Veterans Day Dinner

SATURDAY, NOV. 10 – A steak fry dinner will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. at American Legion Post 150 (233 Olive Street, Waconia). Includes baked potato, cole slaw, bread, beverage. Price: $11.

Scrapbook event

Card making event
SATURDAY, NOV. 10 – The Cologne Lions and Cologne Leo’s Club along with the West Carver Lions and Mayer-Watertown DandyLions are sponsoring an event where people create greeting cards that will be sent to people serving in the military. Zion celebration
SUNDAY, NOV. 11 – Zion Lutheran Church in Mayer is hosting a 100-year celebration worship service, Turkey Dinner and silent auction. Worship times: 8 and 10:30 a.m. Turkey Dinner from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Silent auction closes at 1:30 p.m. Advance dinner tickets are $10 per adult and $5 for kids age 4-10. Tickets for sale at Zion Lutheran School. Dinner includes turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, stuffing, green beans, coleslaw, cranberries, rolls, pumpkin bars and pies.

Turkey Bingo
SUNDAY, NOV. 11 – The St. Boni American Legion will hold Turkey Bingo with door prizes at 2 p.m. at the St. Boniface School Gym (corner of CR 92 and Wildwood Ave., St. Bonifacius).

St. Boniface breakfast
SUNDAY, NOV. 11 – A Pancake, Waffle and Sausage Breakfast will be held in the St. Boniface school gym, St. Bonifacius, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Includes bake sale, cake walk, raffles, quilt raffle. Co-sponsored by St. Boniface CCW and St. Boniface Knights of Columbus.

Veterans Day
MONDAY, NOV. 12 – In honor of Veterans Day, all military personnel, veterans and their families will receive free admission to Safari Island in Waconia. They will also receive free admission and skate rental for Open Skate at the Waconia Ice Arena from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Please present your  Military ID.

Waconia WOT meeting

Memorial Blood Drive
WEDNESDAY, NOV. 14 – Memorial Blood Center willhost a blood drive at Faith Lutheran Church from noon to 7 p.m. The holidays are coming up and at this drive, for every unit of blood collected, Memorial will donate a pound of food to Second Harvest. ‘Oklahoma’ at LHS
NOV. 16-18 – All are invited to enjoy Mayer Lutheran High School’s fall musical, “Oklahoma!” Performances are 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 16 and Saturday, Nov. 17 and 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 18. Admission: $7 for adults and $5 (free for MLHS students). Tickets at the door.

Early Childhood screen.
FRIDAY, NOV. 16 – Early Childhood Screening is a free service offered by District 110 staff that will check a child’s overall development and health. Recommended screening age is between the ages of 3 1/2 and 4 years. Screenings take place at the Early Childhood Family Center, 520 Industrial Blvd., from 8:15 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. Info: 442-0613.

Suicide forum
SATURDAY, NOV. 17 – The Carver County Mental Health Consortium’s Suicide Prevention Community Forum will feature nationally recognized speaker Dr. Dan Reidenberg, the Executive Director of SAVE (Suicide Awareness Voices in Education). The event will be held from 10 a.m. to noon at Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia.

Bazaar Luncheon
SATURDAY, NOV. 17 – The St. Bernard’s Christmas Bazaar Luncheon will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at St. Bernard’s School in Cologne.Great hot dish lunch. Craft items, quilt chances & baked goods.

Pork Chop Supper
SATURDAY, NOV. 17 – The American Legion Post 150 (233 Olive St., Waconia) is hosting a Pork Chop Supper from 4 to 7 p.m. Includes stuffing, German potato salad or mashed potatoes, vegetable, cole slaw. Price: $8.

Pancake breakfast
SUNDAY, NOV. 18 – Council 2506 will host a pancake and sausage breakfast at St. Joseph parish center in Waconia from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The council supports the parishes of St. Bernards, St. Joseph and St. Victoria.

Caregiver Support Group
MONDAY, NOV. 19 – Encore’s Carver County Adult Day Services Program and Emerald Crest Assisted Living Memory Care provide a Caregiver Support Group to address the issues of caring for the aging. Great opportunity to meet, talk with other caregivers and local senior professionals to gain insight, resources and support!
