Holy Family junior Molly Eastman and freshman Maria Eastman recently represented the Fire cross country team at the state meet. Competing in Class AA, they competed at St. Olaf College on Nov. 3 against the best female high school runners in the state.
Molly Eastman finished in 40th position with a final time of 15:03.8. Just six places back was Maria Eastman in 46th with a time of 15:06.4. Shakopee senior Maria Hauger won the race in 13:42.0. Wayzata was the team champion.
This season, the Fire competed in the Wright County Conference for the first time and found success. The girls’ team was second at the conference meet in Buffalo on Oct. 26. Molly Eastman brought home the Fire’s first individual conference title. Maria Eastman was second. The Holy Family boys’ team was fifth in the conference.
Five athletes received All-Conference honors including Molly Eastman, Maria Eastman, Aly Anton, Ellie Stepaniak, and Danny Mahota.
