Euella E. Knauer, age 95 of Waconia, and formerly of Cologne, passed away Monday, Nov. 5, 2012 at the Auburn Home in Waconia. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, Nov. 9 at 11 a.m. at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Cologne with Father Gregory Abbott as Celebrant of the Mass; visitation from 9 a.m. until the time of the Mass at the church; interment at church cemetery. Casket bearers are James Walter, Steve Walter, Randy Walter, Mike Walter, David Walter, Anthony Sinnen.
Euella was born on July 1, 1917 in Cologne, the daughter of Harry and Barbara (Tellers) Walter. She was baptized and later confirmed in the Catholic Faith at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Cologne. On June 1, 1938 Euella was united in marriage to Hilbert Knauer at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Cologne by Father Andrew Rinke. Euella enjoyed her days fishing, cooking, baking and gardening. She loved to just sit and visit with family and friends, and listen to old tyme music. Euella and her husband Hilbert farmed in Cologne for 36 years. They retired in 1976 and relocated to Nisswa, living on Lake Margaret. For the past several years Euella was a resident at Auburn Home in Waconia.
Euella is preceded in death by her husband Hilbert Knauer; father and mother Harry and Barbara Walter; brothers Dallan Walter, Harry Walter; sisters Harriet Hartmann, Florinda Walter; sister-in-law Leonore Walter; brothers-in-law Joseph Jaspers, Lawrence Hartmann.
Euella is survived by her loving family; son and daughter-in-law Elroy and Kandy Knauer of Cologne; grandchildren Nancy Sinnen and fiancé Jason White, Mary Knauer and fiancé Scott Kivi, David Knauer and special friend Sandra Defelice, Julie Meuleners, Devern Van Horn; great-grandchildren Anthony, Zachary and Abigail Sinnen, Maxwell Meuleners, Jack and Henry Van Horn; sister Marcy Jaspers of Chaska; brothers and sisters-in-law Wilbert and Celeste Walter of Chaska; Gilbert Walter of Cologne, Marian Walter of Chaska, Everett and Ann Walter of Chaska, Milo and Marlene Walter of Chaska, Donna Walter of Waconia; nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
