The Music Department at Watertown-Mayer Public Schools has a busy year planned, with many activities, concerts, and events to which the public is invited. The Watertown-Mayer Music Education staff includes Elizabeth McCann, who directs high school bands, and teaches AP theory and strings classes. Janet Windsperger teaches all the general music classes at the elementary, and Susan Ravenscroft works with primary music students. Joining the music staff this year are Vicki Tam-Anderson, middle school bands, and Shirlee Gilmore, high school and middle school choirs.

The iPads have been an integral part of music classes this year. Many applications for music theory, ear training, and sight reading, are put to use daily in band, choir, and theory classes. Applications for virtual keyboards, metronomes, and audio recordings are extremely beneficial in music classes, as well. Ipad technology has made communicating with parents and students more accessible than ever before, which helps with scheduling, individual lesson reminders, calendars, and sharing information of all kinds, such as for concerts and trips.

Everyone is cordially invited to attend any or all of the 2012-2013 Watertown-Mayer school music events listed in the schedule below. For further information, please check individual music teacher pages on the WM website, or contact the appropriate school office.
