Vera loved flowers, gardening, canning; everything to do with growing. She was known for being able to grow violets and to nurse dying plants back from the brink. Vera and Leo loved old thyme music, especially the time spent dancing the waltz with each other. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Summers in Miltona at the family cabin were something to look forward to. She was a longtime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Watertown.
Vera was preceded in death by her husband Leo; siblings Delores Adickes, Erhard Lange, and Melvin Lange. She is survived by her children David (LaDonna) Roy, Roger Roy, Suzanne (Larry) Hanson, Julie (Mark) Lyrek, Louanne (Kerry) Kassulker; grandchildren Darwin (Sharon) Roy, Cristina (Randy) Oestriech, Kelly (Jim) Thaemert, Rebecca (Jim) Burns, Brian (Emily) Roy, Brandon Roy, Alissa Roy, Jason Hanson and special friend Kari, Candace Hanson and special friend Oliver, Scott (Shannon) Lyrek, Joe (Carrie) Lyrek, Kayla Kassulker, Tyler Kassulker; great grandchildren Nathan Roy, Bradlee Oestriech, Kalee Oestriech, Michael Burns, Wesley Burns, Mitchell Burns, Logan Roy, Malachi Hanson, Mizak Hanson, Maya Danielsen, Mason Babcock, Kamden Lyrek, Carsyn Lyrek; siblings Clifford (Beverly) Lange, Melvina Dalbec, Yvonne Lange, Don (Renee) Lange; sisters-in-law Francis Heins and Donna Roy.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, Nov.10, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Watertown. Visitation was Saturday in the church for 2 hours prior to the services. Interment in the Watertown Public Cemetery.
